Job Summary:

The Field Service Representative is responsible for upholding the integrity of the CSA registered mark by performing factory inspections and ensuring ongoing compliance of products displaying the CSA Mark.

Your responsibilities include:


• Conducting factory inspections at CSA authorized facilities (both remote and on-site).


• Selecting representative product samples for auditing; assessing whether samples comply with all relevant standards and certification reports; reviewing quality control and testing documentation.


• Preparing Factory Inspection Reports (FIR), Initial Factory Evaluation (IFE) reports, and consumer product evaluation reports to document inspection findings according to established procedures and work instructions.

• Reviewing previous FIRs to confirm that past deviations have been addressed.
Under supervision, determining satisfactory corrective actions and timelines for implementing changes; assessing whether non-compliance warrants halting shipments, re-investigation, or removal of the CSA mark and taking appropriate action.


• Maintaining communication with clients through follow-ups, providing information, and responding to inquiries.
Staying updated on new services available and communicating these to clients as necessary, assisting clients with updating their records (address, company name, etc.) with CSA.

What we expect:


• Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or an Associate's Degree

• Licensed Electrician with relevant experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering

• 5-7 years of experience (industry-related experience is an asset)

• Ability to work independently and remotely (Home office)

• Strong and effective communication skills

• Excellent conflict resolution skills to manage challenging situations

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and test data

• Computer skills (word processing, email)

• Experience with calibrated measurement instruments, high voltage testing equipment, and hand tools

• Capability to manage multiple inspection files and adapt to changing schedules and deadlines with supervision


• Working knowledge of laboratory instrumentation and general laboratory procedures related to factory inspections


• Proficient communication skills in German and English (oral and written); knowledge of an additional European language (e.g., French or Italian) is welcome


• Willingness to travel as required and/or on short notice. This position involves approximately 75% travel.
