About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Director Product Owner to lead our Digital Transformation efforts in the Creation Products department at adidas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the product-led transformation in your product area and building the best organizational structure to deliver.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Product Strategy & Delivery
  • Develop and execute a product strategy that aligns with company-wide strategic goals and drives business value.
  • Define and prioritize product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that meet customer expectations.
  • Identify and mitigate dependencies that impact product delivery.
  • Represent the product area in key strategic projects and ensure alignment with domain-level priorities and delivery capabilities.
  1. Demand Management
  • Drive demand management and prioritization across assigned Creation products, ensuring alignment with adjacent product areas or domains.
  • Translate strategic direction into product area strategy and product portfolio, considering known constraints and dependencies.
  • Develop business cases to control and monitor performance and results of all investments into the product portfolio.
  1. Stakeholder Management
  • Represent the business for the product area, fostering strong relationships with key global stakeholders to ensure their views and requirements are captured in the product backlogs.
  • Act as an ambassador for your product area, showcasing key functionalities to strategic stakeholders and driving product adoption.
  • Manage relationships outside the product area efficiently to ensure product teams can work autonomously.
  1. Backlog Management
  • Evolve the product area backlog in collaboration with product owners, ensuring alignment with strategic direction.
  • Influence backlog priorities in the own area and influence roadmaps and backlogs from other areas or domains.
  1. Data Ownership for GOPS Product Data
  • Assume ownership for the conceptual data model of the product area.
  • Drive alignment of strategy and roadmap across all stakeholder groups, working closely with group data management.
  • Cleanup reference data, prioritize changes to the data model, and implement measures ensuring data quality across the creation area.
  1. People Management
  • Drive product-led transformation in your area and build the appropriate organizational structure to manage the respective organization effectively.
  • Identify and develop future talents and create realistic succession scenarios for key positions.
  • Promote a high-performance culture by setting clear expectations and individual goals.
  • Ensure leadership skills are present at every level by creating a motivational and supportive work environment.
Requirements
  • University degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant business experience.
  • Minimum 8 years of proven leadership of diverse and global teams and projects in a matrix organization.
  • Cross-functional business experience (e.g., in Marketing, Sales, Operations, Tech) preferred.
