Senior Systems Engineer

We are a leading provider of integrated navigation and tactical solutions designed for naval and maritime security operations. Our company has a rich history of innovation, with the introduction of the first electronic chart system for the maritime market in 1977. Today, we operate in multiple countries, including Canada, the UK, Australia, Taiwan, and Germany.
The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our engineering team. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a critical role in the development of marine navigation and bridge systems for our government and naval markets. Your responsibilities will include developing system designs, defining systems architecture, and performing trade-studies and documentation. You will also be responsible for coordinating design of subsystems and integration of total systems, identifying and analyzing program support deficiencies, and developing and recommending corrective actions.
Key Responsibilities- Develop system designs and define systems architecture
- Perform trade-studies and documentation
- Coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total systems
- Identify and analyze program support deficiencies
- Develop and recommend corrective actions
- Design to government standards, including Military and IMO standards
- Ensure availability, reliability, and logistics support considerations are part of the system design process
- Review obsolescence issues and recommend design changes
- Develop design concepts and generate technical proposals
- Lead customer design reviews and acceptance events
- Lead system integration tests, trials, and acceptance tests
- Write acceptance test procedures
- Manage scope of work, schedules, and estimates
- Degree in Engineering or Physics, or equivalent experience
- 8 years engineering experience, minimum 6 years' experience in Systems Engineering
- Experience in marine electronics and integrated bridge systems a significant asset
- Experience in defense or government domain, preferably in naval ship sector a significant asset
- Experience leading a team of Engineers on projects
- Proven track record in the timely delivery of engineering-related projects
- Strong knowledge of marine navigation and tactical sensors or systems
- Excellent knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, standards, and best practices
- Working experience in network design and architecture
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with requirements and verification management tools such as DOORS
- Knowledge of safety engineering and human factors engineering an asset
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a location-relevant security clearance
- Willingness and ability to travel
