The Role
The Systems Engineer will be part of the engineering team responsible for developing marine navigation and bridge systems for OSI's government and naval markets. This critical role involves developing system designs, defining systems architecture, and performing trade-studies. The successful candidate will have experience in working with various organizations and system components, as well as a strong understanding of Systems Engineering principles and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop system designs and define systems architecture
- Perform trade-studies and document designs
- Coordinate design of subsystems and integration of total system
- Identify and resolve program support deficiencies
- Develop and recommend corrective actions
- Ensure design compliance with government standards
- Review obsolescence issues and recommend design changes
- Develop design concepts and generate technical proposals
- Lead customer design reviews and acceptance events
- Manage scope of work, schedules, and technical risks
Requirements
- 8 years of engineering experience, with a minimum of 6 years in Systems Engineering
- Experience in marine electronics and integrated bridge systems
- Experience in defense or government domain, preferably in naval ship sector
- Strong knowledge of Systems Engineering principles and standards
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Familiarity with requirements and verification management tools
