Job Overview

The Red Hat Consulting team is seeking a Senior Project Manager/Engagement Lead specializing in agile transformation. In this role, you will oversee service projects across Germany, ensuring successful initiation, execution, and closure. Your responsibilities will include coordinating customer workshops, managing staffing needs, and addressing risk management effectively. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in fostering a project management culture and promoting the adoption of essential project management methodologies within Red Hat's services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting for Red Hat's service projects with minimal oversight.
  • Explore and implement innovative approaches to technology delivery in collaboration with Red Hat clients, leveraging agile and open methodologies.
  • Manage project requirements, scope, and change management, ensuring compliance with legal obligations.
  • Assemble project teams with the appropriate consultants and architects, considering necessary skills and experience in partnership with the Technology Manager.
  • Build high-performing teams composed of Red Hat, client, and partner personnel, fostering a culture of continuous assessment and improvement in technology change.
  • Provide training, coaching, or mentoring to individuals and groups, offering context-specific guidance to enhance agile and DevOps maturity.
  • Facilitate workshops to clarify engagement objectives, maintain focus on priority outcomes, and regularly showcase working products alongside the engagement team.
  • As an Engagement Lead, you will guide and facilitate our Open Innovation Labs residencies, employing agile and open practices.
  • Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on project-related activities, including oversight of subcontractors.
  • Engage in status review meetings with project team members and clients.

Qualifications

  • Highly driven with substantial experience in an agile project management capacity overseeing IT-related projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing intricate projects and diverse teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, alongside strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
  • Capability to collaborate effectively with a varied management team and a wide range of internal stakeholders independently.
  • Balanced expertise in both business and technical domains.
  • Ability to articulate the value of project management and contribute to consulting pre-sales efforts.
  • Fluency in German is essential; proficiency in French is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize methodologies that support agile teams; certifications in relevant methodologies that complement an agile delivery style are preferred.
  • PMI and Project Management Professional (PMP) certifications are advantageous.
  • Fluency in both German and English is mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel 40-45% of the time within Germany and occasionally across EMEA.
