We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to join our team as a Childcare Specialist in Residential Care. This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a high level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and communication skills.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to young people in our residential care facilities. This will involve:

  • Developing and maintaining positive relationships with residents, their families, and other stakeholders
  • Creating and implementing individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each resident
  • Providing emotional support and guidance to residents, including crisis intervention and conflict resolution
  • Collaborating with other professionals, such as social workers and therapists, to ensure comprehensive support for residents
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to the development of care plans and policies

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized qualification in childcare or a related field, such as social work or education
  • Proven experience working with vulnerable young people, preferably in a residential care setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with residents, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight shifts
  • Knowledge of child development theories and practices, as well as relevant legislation and policies
