Maintenance Technician

Technical Staff Member (Building & Facility Maintenance) Location: Grafenwoehr, Germany Who May Apply?

Current internal employees within Germany, including local national staff of the U.S. Forces, as well as external applicants residing in Germany.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will oversee the development and execution of maintenance, repair, and operational programs for various buildings, structures, and grounds. Responsibilities include:

  • Initiating and documenting service orders and engineering work requests, detailing the required tasks and prioritizing them based on urgency.
  • Coordinating with installation coordinators and clients to determine emergency needs and facilitate timely resolutions.
  • Preparing comprehensive estimates for labor, materials, and equipment necessary for project execution, ensuring all elements are accounted for.
  • Conducting facility inspections and maintaining accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Managing the SAFLOCK and PEGASYS electronic access systems, including programming and distributing key cards.
  • Engaging in inspections and inventories of military quarters and facilities, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • A valid German driver's license (Class B).
  • Proficiency in office automation software.
  • Language proficiency in English (B1) and German (B2).
Employment Conditions

This position may be filled at the C-05 or full performance level C-5A. The successful candidate may be eligible for non-competitive promotion upon completion of required training. Telework options may be available on a situational basis.
