Key Responsibilities

As a Specialist in Regulatory Approvals Management (m/f/d), you will join our Terminal Management team. Your primary responsibility will be to liaise with local authorities to secure essential operational and environmental permits. You will oversee projects and tasks associated with operational approvals and compile necessary operational documentation. Additionally, you may need to present these documents to local authorities to facilitate seamless operations.

To maintain clarity on current and upcoming approvals, you will assist in the development and execution of a system for tracking required tasks and approval statuses.

Here is a concise overview of your responsibilities:

  • Local oversight of all necessary approvals
  • Planning and execution of all tasks/tests in accordance with approvals
  • Preparation of monthly reports
  • Support for Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) specialists at the terminals
  • Accompanying regulatory inspections at the terminal
Required Qualifications
  • In-depth knowledge of operational approvals and experience with regulatory matters in sectors such as chemistry, energy, industrial facilities, or hazardous material terminals
  • A degree in engineering (e.g., environmental technology) with a solid grasp of technical processes, operations, and their environmental implications
  • Prior experience in drafting approval applications and notifications, as well as collaborating with public authorities
  • Strong understanding of public law standards (particularly environmental law) and administrative approval law (especially in environmental law and general administrative law according to the Federal Immission Control Act, etc.)
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, prioritization skills, and a commitment to precision
  • Fluency in both English and German (written and spoken)
