At CSA Group, we are driven by a vision to enhance safety, sustainability, and quality across the globe. For nearly a century, we have been at the forefront of establishing standards that ensure the integrity of products and services.

With our headquarters in Canada and a network of over 30 laboratories and offices worldwide, CSA Group is committed to testing, inspecting, and certifying a diverse array of products, from everyday items to advanced technologies, ensuring they meet rigorous safety and performance standards.

Our team is passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of individuals through our work. We invite talented professionals to join us in this mission.

Position Overview:

CSA Group is seeking a Field Evaluation Specialist (m/f/d) to support our European Field Evaluations and Verifications team. This role is crucial in delivering services to clients across Europe.

Our field evaluation services are designed to assist manufacturers in entering the North American market when traditional certification is not feasible, while still ensuring compliance with local regulations.

  • Perform technical assessments of non-certified products at manufacturing locations or in the field to verify adherence to safety standards and technical specifications, thereby reducing risks associated with fire and electrical hazards.
  • Professionally coordinate inspection appointments with clients, discuss pricing structures, address questions, and provide tailored technical support relevant to the Field Evaluation program.
  • Analyze technical schematics submitted for review and offer constructive feedback.
  • Compile comprehensive technical reports detailing necessary modifications for non-compliant products and engage with clients regarding corrective actions.
  • Conduct inspections on innovative technologies or intricate products, making informed technical judgments as required.
  • Assist in project quoting by integrating technical specifications and accounting for logistical considerations.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal, decision-making, and organizational capabilities.
  • Demonstrate the technical acumen to independently evaluate a variety of products or collaborate with a technical team.
  • Manage multiple inspection projects and adapt to changing schedules under guidance.
  • Utilize calibrated measurement tools, high voltage testing equipment, and hand tools with proficiency.
  • Accurately interpret engineering drawings and test results.
  • Showcase excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Employ effective conflict resolution strategies to navigate challenging situations.
  • Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of additional European languages, such as Italian, is advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field with a minimum of 3 years of industry experience; or
  • An Engineering Technology or Associate's Degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience; or
  • A Journeyman Electrician with 5 years of applicable experience; or a related technical background with over 7 years of industry experience.
  • Experience in certification or laboratory testing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with laboratory instruments and standard laboratory practices.
  • Knowledge of U.S. and Canadian electrical standards and the ability to apply these standards to local installation requirements and codes (e.g., NEC, CEC, NFPA 790 & 791, SPE-1000, and SPE-3000).

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel as necessary, potentially up to 75% of the time.
  • A balanced approach to personal accountability and teamwork.
  • Insights into one of the most advanced testing laboratories in Europe.
  • Access to a Fitness & Health Program to promote a healthy work-life balance.
  • Opportunities for professional development and training.
  • Permanent employment with a secure future.
  • Additional corporate benefits.

We look forward to receiving your CV in English.
