Senior Data Platform Engineer

Your RoleAs a Senior Data Platform Engineer, you will play a crucial role in operating and continuously developing our cloud-based data platform. This platform serves various critical functions, including Business Intelligence, Digital Analytics, Marketing Controlling, and Data Science.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and enhance our cloud-based data platform, ensuring its stability and scalability.
- Integrate new data sources into the Data Warehouse, guaranteeing data quality control throughout the process. Design data architectures and ETL processes, implement them technically, and ensure the reliable operation of the platform.
- Effectively implement new requirements for data analysis, collaborating with stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
- Independently contribute to prototype projects, implementing technology decisions and driving innovation within the data engineering space.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Platform Engineer with a passion for building robust and scalable data solutions.
Required Skills and Experience:- Proven experience in a similar role following computer science studies (or equivalent).
- Extensive expertise in modern, agile, and object-oriented software development using Python.
- Proficiency in database systems such as Google BigQuery, Exasol, and Azure SQL Database, ideally with administrative and/or conceptual understanding of these technologies.
- Familiarity with cloud environments like Google Cloud Platform and Azure Synapse.
- Experience with common pipeline tools (e.g., Apache AirFlow) and Git/GitLab for version control.
- Ideally, experience in current topics such as Machine Learning, GenAI, or typical Data Science libraries (e.g., Pandas, scikit-learn, StatsModels, SciPy).
- A strong willingness to independently learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
- Excellent communication skills in German, both written and verbal.
