Job Overview:

We are on the lookout for a Legal Counsel Specialist (m/f/x) to join KONUX, where you will play a vital role in supporting the growth of a dynamic company in the AI sector. Your responsibilities will include providing comprehensive legal guidance across various topics, collaborating closely with our General Counsel and internal teams. You will navigate a diverse array of intricate issues, encompassing (international) public procurement and trade law, corporate law, as well as information technology (IT) and intellectual property (IP) law. In addition to substantive legal matters, you will manage legal administration and actively enhance legal workflows and collaboration. Your project management skills will be essential as you balance immediate and long-term objectives while maintaining a strategic perspective. This position offers extensive learning opportunities and requires a proactive approach to ensure successful outcomes.

Your Contributions:
  • Deliver strategic and substantive legal advice to all departments within KONUX.
  • Engage in various projects, from establishing new international entities to creating a self-service legal advice system.
  • Oversee the public procurement process for customer contracts across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Manage external law firms to ensure efficient delivery within budget constraints.
  • Develop and implement our intellectual property strategy.
  • Conduct risk assessments to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Review, draft, and support contract negotiations with clients, suppliers, and partners in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Provide in-house legal training to enhance team capabilities.
  • Draft and revise KONUX policies while educating our team on compliance.
  • Assist with corporate housekeeping, compliance, and governance tasks.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable global data protection regulations.
Qualifications:
  • A keen interest in understanding new technologies and the ability to manage multiple topics concurrently.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and pragmatic skills, complemented by a business-oriented mindset and a hands-on approach.
  • A minimum of 5 years of full-time experience as a legal counsel in a startup or mid-sized organization.
  • Qualified as a lawyer in Germany (Volljurist/in bzw. Syndikusrechtsanwalt/-anwältin).
  • Proficient knowledge in at least two legal areas, including:

    1) Contract and Trade Law

    2) IP/IT Law (AI, Data, SaaS, proprietary software, OSS)

    3) Corporate Law

    4) European Public Procurement Law
  • Experience in contract drafting and the ability to produce clear legal documents.
  • Familiarity with MS Office and/or G-Suite, with a willingness to learn new tools such as Slack and Confluence.
  • Embrace legal technology and understand how to effectively integrate tech solutions into daily operations, including generative AI and SaaS.
  • Fluent in both English and German.
