About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our team at BASF Digital Solutions GmbH. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will be responsible for developing innovative solutions using state-of-the-art data science concepts and cutting-edge frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support AI projects from ideation to commissioning, service, and support during runtime.
  • Identify needs of internal colleagues and translate them into software specifications, manage, and actively drive the development.
  • Develop new concepts, models, and solutions applying data science concepts and work with leading frameworks and technologies.
  • Upscale and manage services globally, e.g., Condition Monitoring, Computer Vision, Generative AI.
  • Manage service adjustments smoothly in case of software and solution updates and the expectations of business partners for running, maintaining, and reviewing our services.
Requirements
  • Master or PhD in engineering, computer science, mathematics, statistics, natural sciences, or information technology with a focus on data-driven applications.
  • Working knowledge in the development of complex data science software solutions, preferably of cloud-based applications.
  • Good knowledge in machine learning with Python and (graph-)databases and experienced in building solutions with cloud technology (Microsoft Azure).
  • Familiar with technologies around Computer Vision, Generative AI, and analytics to process sensor/time-series data.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English and German, defining you as an effective team player.
  • Ideal working experience in agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum) and DevOps concepts.
  • Creative and motivated working style with a strong focus on innovation and customers.
