Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Engineer to enhance our operations at Guardian Industries. This role is essential for ensuring compliance and promoting a culture of safety within our organization.
Your Responsibilities
• Foster skills and knowledge within operational teams to effectively identify and mitigate EHS risks.
• Design, execute, and oversee EHS initiatives and operational best practices, covering areas such as Hazard Communication, Confined Space, Respiratory Health, and Energy Control.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies regarding environmental matters.
• Maintain and enhance ATEX and fire safety systems and procedures.
• Assist management in implementing behavior-based safety programs.
• Create EH&S frameworks to ensure the plant meets compliance requirements and that all personnel possess the necessary skills to adhere to EH&S policies.
• Collaborate with plant leadership on incident investigations, ensuring thorough root-cause analysis, appropriate follow-up actions, and effective incident reporting.
• Monitor safety and training metrics within the facility and generate reports for management as required.
• Actively promote the organization’s Guiding Principles and a culture centered on compliance, hazard awareness, incident prevention, risk management, open communication, and knowledge sharing.
• Establish a strong presence and build productive relationships with operational teams.
Qualifications
• Completed engineering degree (Bachelor's or Master's) with a focus on environmental science, occupational health, safety, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in environmental, health, and safety within a manufacturing environment.
• In-depth knowledge of environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards, particularly in Germany.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing occupational safety and health programs, as well as corporate environmental protection initiatives.
• Proficient in both spoken and written English and German.
• Competent in using MS Office applications.
• Strong commitment and proactive approach to work.
• Excellent interpersonal abilities, including strong verbal, written, and negotiation skills, with a focus on service and support.
