Sustainability Operations Manager

About Us
CropEnergies stands for sustainable, renewable products derived from biomass. Our contributions lead to a climate-friendly world, ensuring that fossil carbon remains permanently in the soil. In addition to renewable ethanol, we produce valuable food and feed products. Currently, we are pursuing various projects aimed at the production of bio-based chemicals based on ethanol. CropEnergies operates production sites in multiple countries and is part of the Südzucker Group, which employs a diverse workforce globally.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute a comprehensive environmental strategy across the Group to guarantee adherence to both national and international environmental laws.
- Establish an environmental management framework compliant with DIN ISO 14001 or EMAS standards.
- Enforce Group-wide policies and regulations concerning environmental compliance.
- Facilitate and support collaboration with various departments to implement measures, plans, and projects that fulfill environmental obligations within the organization.
- Proactively monitor and assess the established environmental and sustainability objectives.
- Digitize all pertinent Group-wide environmental processes using data management software and assist the companies in implementing and analyzing relevant key performance indicators.
- Aid in the creation of communication strategies and training materials to foster environmental awareness and a culture of compliance within the organization.
Profile
- Master’s degree in environmental engineering, management, natural sciences, or related fields.
- A minimum of five years of professional experience.
- Strong understanding of developing and enhancing environmental management systems in line with ISO 14001 and EMAS, as well as relevant environmental legislation and operational aspects of environmental protection.
- Extensive background in environmental compliance, strategy, and project management.
- Ability to work independently and diligently, managing projects effectively and meeting deadlines while engaging stakeholders.
- Proficient in English is essential; knowledge of German and French is advantageous.
