Role Overview
At the AWS Development Center in Germany, we focus on developing and managing the Live Migration service, which facilitates the smooth transition of EC2 instances across physical servers. This service is crucial for ensuring the continuous availability and reliability of our customers' applications.
Key Responsibilities
As a Software Development Engineer, you will:
- Design, implement, and test new functionalities and improvements for our Live Migration service.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish requirements, set priorities, and define timelines for feature development and issue resolution.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot production issues, ensuring optimal performance and availability of our services.
- Engage in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to maintain a high-quality codebase.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience in software development, particularly in distributed systems, networking, or infrastructure software.
- Familiarity with operating and supporting production cloud services.
- Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language, such as Java, Kotlin, or C++.
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Ruby.
