Software Development Engineer, AWS, EC2 Live Migration Expert

At Amazon Web Services Development Center Germany GmbH, we're looking for a highly skilled Software Development Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our EC2 Live Migration service, you'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing new features and enhancements to our control plane service.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement new features and enhancements to our Live Migration control plane service in EC2.
- Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to define requirements, priorities, and timelines for feature development and bug fixes.
- Diagnose and resolve issues that arise in our production environment, ensuring that our service is always available and performing optimally.
- Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other engineers to ensure that our codebase is maintainable, scalable, and efficient.
- Continuously improve our control plane service by identifying opportunities for automation, optimization, and performance tuning.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need to have a strong background in software development, with a focus on distributed systems at scale, networking, or infrastructure software. You'll also need to have experience operating and supporting production cloud services, including on-call responsibilities. Strong programming skills in at least one high-level programming language, such as Java, Kotlin, C++, or others, are also required. Familiarity with Linux operating systems and command-line tools is a plus.
