CMC Markets is seeking a dedicated Management Accountant to enhance our financial operations.
In this pivotal role, the individual will play a crucial part in ensuring robust financial governance and control, alongside the timely generation of relevant financial and management reports to support our core operational regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee an efficient month-end financial closing process, ensuring accurate preparation and posting of manual journals, including accruals and prepayments, in accordance with the established Finance timetable.
- Maintain the integrity and precision of balance sheets by conducting monthly and quarterly reconciliations and preparing supporting documentation.
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts to senior management, incorporating variance analysis against forecasts and historical data, complemented by insightful commentary.
- Collaborate with Office Heads to review and analyze KPI metrics monthly, providing constructive challenges where necessary.
- Support effective commercial and operational management by participating in monthly meetings with senior departmental managers to discuss results and identify key risks and opportunities.
- Engage with Heads of Department and senior stakeholders in the preparation and ongoing review of quarterly forecasts.
- Facilitate a smooth year-end audit process through proactive planning and timely responses to auditor inquiries, while fostering positive relationships with external audit teams.
- Assist in the accurate and timely preparation of financial statements for major Group subsidiaries under IFRS, as well as for branches adhering to local reporting standards.
- Manage the requirements for ACCA/CIMA studies, ensuring a structured approach to achieving the selected qualification.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Part Qualified accountant actively pursuing a professional qualification in Finance – ACA / ACCA / CIMA (full study support provided).
- Previous experience in an accounting or finance capacity.
- A strong desire to learn and advance professionally.
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel.
- A university degree, ideally in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Economics.
- Experience in Financial Services or a related field.
- A demonstrated interest or understanding of financial markets.
- Familiarity with finance systems such as Oracle Financials or Hyperion Financial Management.
