Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Molecular Cancer Biology

The research group of Jan Dörr at the ECRC, Charité and Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced postdoctoral research associate to join our team in molecular cancer biology.
We are an interdisciplinary and international team of enthusiastic scientists and doctors, working on the investigation of causes and consequences of tumor heterogeneity and treatment resistance in pediatric cancers. Our laboratory has generous access to state-of-the-art equipment by the facilities of the Charité and the MDC, with multiple opportunities for translational pediatric cancer research. The working language is English.
Key Responsibilities- Develop research projects in close cooperation with other research groups of the collaborative research center CRC1588:Decoding and Targeting Mechanisms of Neuroblastoma Evolution
- Conduct cutting-edge research in a protected, interactive, highly collaborative, and well-funded environment
- Collaborate with research groups of the CRC, especially the Mertins group (Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine), and international collaborations (Hondele group, Biozentrum Basel, Switzerland)
- Recent graduate (PhD) or postdoctoral research scientist in cancer biology, biochemistry or molecular medicine
- Curious, motivated, creative and independent mindset
- Strong publication record and ambition to pursue an academic career
- Trained in methods to analyse cell lines by functional genomics (CRISPR-Cas9-based or shRNA-based screenings), molecular biology (PCR, FISH, cloning, immunoblotting, co-immunoprecipitation, proximity labeling, etc.) and molecular medicine (histopathology, flow cytometry, fluorescence microscopy)
- Proficiency in transcriptomic and proteomic data analyses and basic knowledge in programming (preferably in R)
- Ability to work in a team within the laboratory and with (inter)national partners and to communicate scientific concepts and data in English
- A relaxed, but highly professional collaboration in a familial, motivated and interdisciplinary team
