Full Stack Developer for Point of Sale

Job Title: Full Stack Developer for Point of Sale

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer to join our team at NEW YORKER. As a Full Stack Developer, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining our Point of Sale (POS) systems, ensuring a seamless and efficient customer checkout experience in our stores.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain POS software solutions, ensuring their functionality, stability, and security.
  • Develop new features and technologies to enhance the customer shopping experience and increase point of sale efficiency.
  • Ensure code quality by applying best practices in software engineering.
  • Collaborate with other teams, such as the sales management team, to ensure smooth integration and operation of solutions.
  • Collaborate with the testing team to ensure software quality through joint efforts.
  • Actively participate in scrum activities, including sprint planning, stand-up meetings, review, and retrospectives.
  • Continuous improvement of development methods and technologies to continuously increase the efficiency and quality of work.
Requirements:
  • Degree in computer science, business informatics, or a similar course of study.
  • Several years of professional experience in software development, ideally in the point of sale or retail environment.
  • Proficiency in C# (.NET), and WPF.
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks, such as Angular or Aurelia.
  • Strong understanding of development best practices, such as Git, version control, and containerization technologies, including Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher.
  • Experience with database management, including SQLite, PostgreSQL, and MS SQL.
  • Experience designing and implementing APIs with versioning best practices, including OpenAPI.
  • Knowledge of agile development methods, particularly Scrum.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
  • Fluency in English is a requirement; German language skills are a plus.
