Position Overview

State Street Bank International GmbH is seeking an IT Audit Manager at the Assistant Vice President level. This role entails overseeing and executing audits related to IT governance, systems infrastructure, information security, application controls, and operational monitoring activities, ensuring adherence to the division's risk-based audit framework. The primary focus will be on participating in global IT audit projects while considering local regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

As the IT Audit Manager, Assistant Vice President, your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with an international team and engaging with global stakeholders in dynamic environments where solutions may not be immediately evident.
  • Managing the planning, evaluation, testing, and reporting phases of audits that encompass IT governance, systems infrastructure, information security, application controls, and operational activities.
  • Conducting independent and objective evaluations of risks and controls to enhance risk management practices.
  • Assessing systems and their supporting controls for compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies while addressing business needs.
  • Recommending enhancements to controls to mitigate significant risks.
  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of ECB and BaFin regulatory standards.
  • Influencing organizational change and providing insights on business initiatives, including system implementations.
  • Preparing or reviewing audit documentation to ensure compliance with the division's risk-based audit methodology.
  • Supervising, mentoring, and developing staff to enhance technology audit competencies across the Corporate Audit division.
  • Utilizing strong writing skills to effectively communicate complex technical issues in business terms.
  • Drafting audit reports and presenting key findings to senior management.

Qualifications and Skills

The following qualifications will contribute to your success in this role:

  • Experience in leading and supervising project teams, ideally in an audit or assurance capacity within the financial services sector.
  • Proficiency in evaluating and testing internal controls and applying a risk-based audit approach.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively and work independently in a fast-paced international team environment.
  • Professional curiosity and a willingness to learn new technologies and processes.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational, research, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of the roles of the first, second, and third lines of defense.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Education and Preferred Qualifications

  • A university degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field; an advanced degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, or Systems Engineering is preferred.
  • Possession of one or more industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CISA, CRISC, CISM, CISSP, Cloud+) and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Over 5 years of experience in auditing technology-related areas, including IT resilience, data replication, disaster recovery, identity and access management, and cybersecurity frameworks.

Additional Information

  • Willingness to travel up to 20% annually.
  • Knowledge of the German language is considered an advantage.
