Prax Group has announced its intention to acquire joint ownership of PCK Refinery GmbH (PCK) from Shell Deutschland. As a result, we will be establishing a related wholesale business to purchase and sell crude oil and refined products.
We are seeking a Commercial Manager to be based in Hamburg.
The Commercial Manager will be responsible for placing refining output volumes in the inland market and collaborating closely with the London Trading team to optimize the integrated margin and refining margin.
The role is also responsible for fully understanding the company's supply and demand balance, including OIL and PCK Refinery, as well as comprehending market supply and demand balances and dynamics.
The Role:
- Responsible for all supply and logistics activities to supply the OIL network in Europe while working on completing the portfolio by building up a wholesale/reseller business.
- Collaborating closely with the international trading teams based in London, serving as the face to the local markets.
- Negotiating all term and spot supply deals to achieve the most competitive supply for the marketing short and leverage beyond.
- Full flexibility on supply and supply chain optimization, including logistics (rail, barge) and relevant bio elements.
- Working together with the OIL business to set the strategy and deliver as a team.
- Clear ambition to strive for growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full responsibility for the most competitive OIL Supply.
- Full responsibility, in collaboration with the London trading team, to maximize the value of OIL
- Oversight and optimization of the end-to-end value chain.
- Process improvement and setting up best-in-class processes, including digital high grading.
- Building up a team at the core of the business, coaching, and inspiring people.
- Working across the interfaces along the value chain.

Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role in supply and B2B.
- Well-connected in the local markets.
- Leadership and change management.

- Full awareness of the conventional and new energy mix in the context of the energy transition to a lower carbon future.
- Fluency in German and English language is essential.
