About the Role:
In the Group Research & Mercedes-Benz Cars Development (RD), we are dedicated to shaping the future of the automotive industry. Our focus is on creating innovative products of the highest quality while streamlining development processes. We are actively engaged in projects that will ensure the technological leadership of the Mercedes-Benz Group.
A primary objective of our vehicle development is to enhance energy efficiency, thereby improving the range of our electric and hybrid vehicles, which have limited storage capacity. The implementation of intelligent, energy-efficient systems and operational strategies is crucial for achieving these goals and plays a significant role in optimizing the economic viability of our vehicles.
Our team is committed to addressing energy efficiency challenges that aim to minimize the energy consumption of various components and systems.
We collaborate closely with partner divisions involved in the development of vehicle electrical systems, thermal comfort, charging solutions, electric drives, and chassis systems.
The main drivers for our initiatives include the adoption of new technologies, refined operational strategies, and a strong emphasis on the requirements of Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs).
Internship Responsibilities:
- Preparation and operationalization of our control methods, focusing on standardization and digitalization.
- Organization and facilitation of regular communication meetings with our partners across specialized and cross-sectional areas.
- Collaboration on innovative and forward-thinking energy efficiency projects for electrified Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficient in both written and spoken German and English.
- Strong skills in MS Office, with additional expertise in programming languages and databases.
- Demonstrated commitment, initiative, and teamwork abilities.
- Analytical mindset with a strategic approach to problem-solving.
