Senior Java Developer – Microservices, Spring Boot

About the Role

Your passion lies in Java backend development with microservices and Spring Boot. You're expected to thrive in a flat hierarchy with a cross-functional Scrum team and contribute to shaping a news product with big plans. We're looking for a skilled developer to help make one of Germany's largest news portals with over 18 million users even more attractive using AI.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop sophisticated features and services based on current Java 21 technologies for our news portal and internal microservices.
  • Identify opportunities for optimization in terms of quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Tackle complex problems or high-risk systems using architectural spikes and proof of concepts.
  • Test your code supported by our continuous integration and delivery setup with high automation and receive quick feedback.
  • Stay up-to-date with current trends and technologies and share your knowledge with colleagues in regular brown bag sessions or slack days.
