We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Production Assistant to join our team at Manpower Luxembourg S.A.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the management of translation production, including planning and scheduling, pre-processing of documents, and tracking documents received for translation or editing.
Key Responsibilities:- Assume responsibility for own translation projects through planning and scheduling, pre-processing of documents, and ensuring that set deadlines are respected.
- Prepare texts for translation into several languages, including analysing/checking texts, pre- and post-processing, and finding and attaching reference material.
- Prepare and follow up on large projects into all EU and other languages, dealing simultaneously with in-house and external translators.
- Finalize translation projects by ensuring that language versions are correctly formatted, complete, and without formal mistakes.
- Supervise the translation workflow in close interaction with the Linguistic Services Division's clients and translators.
- Negotiate deadlines with clients and consult them in case of conflicting deadlines.
- Correct data input into the workflow management tool, contributing to reliable statistics.
- Participate in the continuous improvement of the Division's procedures, particularly in parts concerning the Production Management Unit.
- Secondary level education, complemented with a 2-year certification in a relevant field or secondary level education with equally qualified experience in a relevant field.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in a translation environment, with experience with workflow management an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, preferably the SDL Studio suite.
- Excellent formatting skills, proficient in Word, good knowledge of Excel, basic knowledge of Powerpoint, and experience with converting pdf files for translation purposes.
- Good knowledge of standard office tools and enthusiasm to learn new IT tools, such as the Plunet workflow management system.
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English and good command of French, with knowledge of German an advantage.
