We are seeking a new VP of Engineering to lead our operations from our Munich headquarters.
ResponsibilitiesYou will take charge of refining development workflows, managing the platform, and expanding the engineering team both on-site and remotely.
With a solid background in engineering management and experience with a SaaS product utilizing contemporary cloud technologies, you will guarantee ongoing efficient development and operational success.
Your role will involve leading and growing our engineering team, ensuring the effective implementation of our product roadmap and the timely delivery of high-quality software.
By focusing on enhancing our development workflows, applying best practices, and nurturing a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement across cross-functional teams—including engineering, product management, and design—you will translate the company’s technological vision into actionable, scalable solutions.
Moreover, you will ensure that our technological infrastructure and associated operations are robust, secure, and capable of supporting our ambitious growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Overseeing engineering team operations and the execution of product development.
- Enhancing engineering processes and applying best practices.
- Managing and expanding the engineering team, with a focus on recruitment, training, and development both locally and remotely.
- Promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Working with cross-functional teams to align technical initiatives with company objectives.
- Ensuring timely and high-quality software delivery within budget constraints.
- Guaranteeing the robustness, security, and scalability of our technology infrastructure and operations.
- Providing leadership in daily activities and team management.
Required Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and 5+ years in a leadership capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in developing a SaaS product with a deep understanding of:
- Cloud DevOps practices and infrastructure management.
- Continuous delivery pipelines that provide quality and value to customers in short iterative cycles.
- Modern/public API development (Java Spring Boot, C# .NET Core, or similar).
- Single-page application development using React, Angular, Vue, or similar frameworks.
- Experience in scaling teams and processes effectively.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, emphasizing mentoring and team development.
- Excellent communication abilities, capable of articulating technical vision and strategy to diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in both German (C1+) and English (C1) at a native or bilingual level or with full professional proficiency.
- Ability to think strategically while remaining hands-on when necessary.
