Lead Mechanical and Systems Engineering Expert

Are you a seasoned mechanical engineer with a passion for innovation? We're seeking a highly skilled Head of Mechanical and Systems Engineering to spearhead the development of our revolutionary wind-powered ship class.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams, including naval architects, embedded system engineers, and control engineers.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Conduct engineering calculations, strength analyses, and simulations to optimize designs.
  • Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, CAD models, and engineering drawings.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience working at sea on merchant vessels, with knowledge of common onboard systems (a plus).
  • Exceptional organizational and systems engineering skills.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks (a plus).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment.
  • Proficient German skills are a bonus.
  • EU work permit (Darwin Recruitment does not provide visa sponsorship for this role).
