Global Medical Content Manager Scientific Affairs Ecosystems

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Content Manager to join our Scientific Affairs team at Olympus. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the scientific communication for our digital areas, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and developing high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Function as a medical-scientific subject matter expert and lead the scientific communication for assigned digital areas
- Liaise with internal cross-functional stakeholders and external stakeholders to achieve timely and high-quality deliverables
- Identify data gaps and activities to feed the scientific communication plan and platform
- Regularly monitor the publication landscape through targeted literature searches to educate internal stakeholders and inform content development
- Focus on data processing in close cooperation with regulatory affairs
- Cooperate with clinical affairs, business units, and other areas regarding approvals and developing strategies
- Provide medical insight through literature analyses answering dedicated research questions that inform Product Solutions
- Formulate scientific claims for new products in a cross-functional team and manage substantiating evidence
- Develop, iterate, and update strategic integrated publication plans in conjunction with changes in the scientific landscape
- Track progress of deliverables and ensure organizational awareness of activities
- Manage external expert stakeholders (HCPs), such as authors and publication steering committees, to provide advice and shape the publication plan strategy
- Assume responsibility for incorporating medical value grounded in science and existing evidence into value messaging and scientific narrative of a device and/or technology
- Create tailored medical education content for internal and external stakeholders via the best communication channel
- Continuously evaluate nascent communication channels and methods to meet information consumption habits and increasing awareness of Olympus technology and clinical programs
- Manage professional relationships with assigned business units, marketing and commercial, and other relevant Olympus stakeholders
- Contribute to scientific communication governance by contributing to the development of key performance indicators (KPI), reports, and reporting structure
- Interface and collaborate with external stakeholders and internal cross-functional MSA teams to ensure delivery of medical information according to plan and with quality
Requirements
- University degree in life sciences or related field (preferably with additional degree such as PhD, MBA)
- 5+ years industry experience within a device/pharmaceutical company (preferably in multiple phases and multiple roles) and with ideally 1-2 years of experience in medical and scientific communications
- Strong affinity for digital solutions
- Big data experience
- AI experience
- Budget and forecasting experience
- Ability to think strategically, critically analyze and synthesize complicated data and scientific information
- Strong consulting, facilitation, and communication skills bridging between scientific communication and business priorities
- Comfortable liaising with KOLs to manage publication plans and chair publication steering committee meetings
- A high level of energy, self-confidence, persuasive charm, and the ability to function at peak levels in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment
- Proactive with a sense of urgency, a clear set of priorities, and a strong work ethic
- Ability to think strategically, critically analyze and synthesize complicated data and scientific information
- Knowledge and ability to navigate and apply compliance policies to all interactions
- Experience working in a global cross-functional team (functional/matrix) environment and knowledge and/or experience working with groups with varied cultural backgrounds and learning styles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
- Occasional domestic and international travel (< 10%), including weekend and evening travel as needed
