Master Thesis in Multi-Modal Active User Detection and Command Identification for Service Robots

At Robert Bosch GmbH, we are seeking a highly motivated master student to contribute to the development of a robust pipeline for active user detection and engagement level estimation in service robots.
Job Description:
Service robots operating in social and industrial spaces require advanced human-robot interaction capabilities to ensure safe and efficient navigation. In this master thesis, you will research and implement novel algorithms for human-robot interaction, leveraging state-of-the-art robot perception techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a robust pipeline for active user detection and engagement level estimation
- Contribute to improved human-awareness and safety in service robots
- Collaborate with experts in human-oriented robotics and benefit from powerful infrastructure
Requirements:
- Master studies in Computer Science or comparable with very good grades
- Programming skills in Python and experience in deep learning frameworks
- Experience in machine learning and computer vision, ideally in robotics and ROS
