Senior Specialist Solutions Engineer - Data Governance Expert

As a Senior Specialist Solutions Engineer - Data Governance Expert at Databricks, you will play a key role in guiding customers in adopting Unity Catalog and Delta Sharing on Databricks. You will work closely with Solution Architects to provide technical leadership and support, leveraging your expertise in data governance solutions and cloud data lakes and data warehouses.

The Impact You Will Have:
  • Provide technical guidance to customers on successful implementations of Unity Catalog and Delta Sharing, from advisory and design to deployment and troubleshooting.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Databricks' built-in roles and identity concepts, and map them to fit organizational requirements.
  • Communicate and educate customers on organizational models of governance and how they relate to data governance products in Databricks.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects on advanced technical sales aspects, including pilot advisory services, custom proof of concept content, and custom architectures.
  • Design and deliver tutorials and training to improve community adoption, including hackathons and conference presentations.
  • Contribute to the Databricks Community.
What We Look For:
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical role with expertise in data governance or data management.
  • Experience with cloud governance tools, such as Collibra, Alation, Azure Purview, Atlan, Apache Atlas, and Privacera.
  • Experience designing and developing data governance models that support different layers of access control, data isolation, and data sharing.
  • Experience implementing data governance solutions into production with complex needs.
  • Experience working with Meta Stores and governance policies, roles for cloud data storage systems.
  • 2 years of professional experience with Big Data technologies, such as Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.
  • Production programming experience in SQL and Python, Scala, or Java.
  • 2 years of customer-facing experience in a pre-sales or post-sales role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience through work experience.
