We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team at the Chemnitz University of Technology. As a Research Assistant, you will be responsible for quantum chemical simulation of chemical gas phase etching of silicon and silicon dioxide.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop atomistic models of surface processes related to gas-phase etching of silicon and silicon dioxide
- Conduct quantum chemical simulations of catalytic effects in chemical gas phase etching of silicon and silicon dioxide
- Model-based screening of potential etchants and catalysts with a focus on sustainability
- Contribute to model-based sustainability assessment and life-cycle analysis
- Adapt and improve simulation methods and tools
- Publish results in scientific journals and present at conferences
- Collaborate with national and international partners within the European project "Novel approaches for halogen-free and sustainable etching of Silicon and Glass"
- Master's degree or equivalent in physics, chemistry, electrical engineering, or related fields
- Knowledge in computational chemistry, especially in electron structure simulation
- Experience in high-performance computing on Linux systems and the scripting language Python
- Background in semiconductor technology is welcome
- First experiences in machine learning methods would complement your skill set
- Team work, creativity, independent and organized scientific work, and interest in innovative solutions and result-oriented work
