About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher to join our team at Campus Schwarzwald in collaboration with the Institute for Control and Systems Engineering at KIT.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead research projects in close collaboration with the IRS
  • Coordinate with academic and industrial partners
  • Participate in selected KIT courses at Campus Schwarzwald
  • Publish research results at national and international conferences
  • Establish connections between the IRS at KIT and Campus Schwarzwald
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Automation Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Medical Technology, or related fields
  • Strong interest in software engineering, modeling, and digitalization
  • Strong will to shape and drive research projects
  • Ability to work independently and drive own research topics
  • Excellent German and English language skills
Research Focus

We aim to strengthen our research team at Campus Schwarzwald and the IRS in the following areas:

  • Modeling, simulation, prediction, and optimization for production systems
  • Concept and development of intelligent IIoT solutions and service platforms
  • Development and practical realization of use cases in the Campus Production Lab
  • Research and co-creation of future technologies (e.g., 5G, OT-Security, hydrogen technology)
  • Machine-human collaboration and assistance systems

Our research projects are aligned with current global challenges and focus on resource conservation, sustainability, resilience, and flexibility.

Join our team and become a key player in a new research cooperation between Campus Schwarzwald and KIT. Gain insights into modern research topics in an agile campus atmosphere with close proximity to cooperating companies. You will receive excellent supervision of your PhD by the Institute for Control and Systems Engineering at KIT.

The position will be filled in EG 13 TV-L at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology. The main workplace is the Campus Schwarzwald in Freudenstadt.
