As an AI Infrastructure Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting researchers and academic users in leveraging our advanced AI service infrastructure. Your expertise will be essential in optimizing their system utilization and enhancing their research capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate within a dedicated team to provide guidance to researchers and academic users on the effective use of our AI service infrastructure.
- Deliver second and third level support and consultancy to scientific users and research groups engaged in cutting-edge AI projects.
- Manage user access and oversee the administration of the AI service infrastructure.
- Gain access to state-of-the-art AI and high-performance computing resources, including GPUs, CPUs, and AI accelerators.
- Engage directly with technology providers and developers, as well as national and European collaboration partners and projects.
- Contribute to a friendly and open work environment within a highly motivated, international team, with ample opportunities to develop and implement your own ideas.
- Strong proficiency in Linux operating systems.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Machine Learning and AI applications, frameworks, methods, and models (e.g., Python, PyTorch, JAX).
- Familiarity with software containerization (e.g., Docker) and package management systems (e.g., pip or Conda).
- Commitment to staying updated with the latest technological advancements and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Proficient writing and presentation skills in German and/or English.
- A personable demeanor to foster relationships with academic user communities.
- A Master's degree in computer or data science, or related fields, or a minimum of three years of applied experience in data analytics and machine learning/AI within research settings.
- Experience with high-performance cluster systems, including workload/resource management systems and parallel file systems.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and GitLab, as well as CI/CD practices.

Employment Type: Full-time (40 hours) / Part-time options available
Contract Duration: 24 months, with the possibility of extension
Compensation: Up to E 13, in accordance with the applicable pay scale
Leave: 30 days of annual leave, with additional days off
Overtime compensated with additional time off.

Remote Work: Up to 60% of work time may be conducted remotely, when applicable.
