Head of Preclinical Operations

As the Head of Preclinical Operations (all genders) (permanent / full-time), you will be instrumental in advancing our expanding pipeline by overseeing the execution of preclinical in vivo studies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage three technical teams within PCS LU focused on laboratory animal care, in vivo studies, and pathology sample preparation to ensure successful preclinical study outcomes.
  • Mentor people managers in their daily responsibilities related to in vivo and pathology deliverables.
  • Foster a culture of trust and empowerment, encouraging effective decision-making and delegation.
  • Enhance communication and workflows to strengthen interdepartmental relationships.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and implement programs to improve operational efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with the Site Head PCS to ensure teams have the necessary resources for timely and compliant execution of in vivo studies.
  • Work with the attending veterinarian and animal welfare officer to uphold animal husbandry standards and advance 3Rs principles.
  • Engage in global and cross-functional initiatives and process improvement projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a life science field.
  • PhD preferred.
  • Extensive experience in preclinical safety or comparative medicine within drug development (approximately 10+ years).
  • Line management experience suitable for the complexity of preclinical operations.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
