Job Overview

As a vital member of the AIT team at CS GROUP, your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities:

  • Development of MGSE: Engage in the definition and design of Mechanical Ground Support Equipment, ensuring all tasks are meticulously outlined;
  • Assembly and Testing: Execute assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) tasks associated with aerospace projects, including satellites and subsystems;
  • Coordination: Collaborate with the AIT manager and other engineering disciplines to oversee mechanical AIT operations on satellite projects;
  • Integration Preparation: Prepare and implement mechanical integrations of flight hardware, while documenting all outcomes;
  • Concept Development: Formulate concepts for mechanical AIT and MGSE, along with the creation of relevant planning documents;
  • Compliance Implementation: Ensure adherence to external and internal requirements for mechanical AIT, MGSE, and thermal hardware;
  • Subcontractor Support: Provide assistance to subcontractors involved in MGSE, thermal hardware, and testing equipment;
  • Procedure Creation: Develop integration and testing procedures, reports, and evaluate test results;
  • Procurement: Manage the procurement process for MGSE related to satellite initiatives;
  • Specification Development: Create necessary specifications and support the tender process, including evaluation and acceptance of subcontractors;
  • Development Coordination: Facilitate the internal development of MGSE in accordance with the PRC process, culminating in the implementation of admission tests;
  • Thermal Hardware Specification: Specify and accept thermal hardware and testing equipment;
  • Documentation Updates: Revise and update generic MGSE and thermal hardware specifications to align with project needs;
  • Campaign Participation: Engage in test and launch campaigns, which may require extended international assignments;
  • Error Analysis: Participate in Non-Conformance Review Boards (NRBs) to identify error causes and propose solutions;
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other CS GROUP locations and European subcontractors.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should possess the following qualifications and relevant experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering;
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications;
  • Experience with Windchill and CAD software (preferably CATIA) is advantageous;
  • Familiarity with SAP applications;
  • Experience with project scheduling tools (such as MS Project);
  • Strong technical understanding of satellite mechanisms and system components;
  • Possession of a driving license and familiarity with cranes and aerial work platforms is desirable;
  • Proven experience in high-quality mechanical integration, particularly with space components;
  • Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing and integration standards;
  • Understanding of electrical component functions and applications;
  • Experience in measurement technology (mechanical/electrical) is a plus;
  • Demonstrated assertiveness, independent and structured work style, teamwork capability, and a strong quality focus;
  • Willingness to travel for business and adapt to shift work;
  • Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of German is a plus.
