Head of Accounting and Financial Leadership

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Accounting and Financial Leadership to join our team at Adevinta 2021. As a key member of our Financial Accounting team, you will be responsible for leading our dedicated team and collaborating closely with local and international teams.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, with extensive experience in a global environment and at least 3 years of team leadership experience in an international matrix organization. You will be responsible for overseeing monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closings, managing revenue controlling and accounting, conducting trial balance reviews, and coordinating allocations and cross-charges.
You will also be responsible for supervising payroll and expense report coordination, preparing financial statements, and coordinating local statutory audits. Additionally, you will monitor fixed assets and capitalization processes, coordinate local tax audits and tax returns, and collaborate with our Finance systems and local Billing teams to ensure German accounting and tax requirements are fulfilled.
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, and will be fluent in German and English. You will lead with empathy and support, empowering your team to thrive and drive business success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial closings by working with all internal and external Financial Accountants and Analysts.
- Manage revenue controlling and accounting for relevant countries and centrally managed revenue streams.
- Conduct trial balance reviews and flux analysis.
- Coordinate allocations, cross-charges, and project accounting.
- Supervise payroll and expense report coordination.
- Prepare financial statements and coordinate local statutory audits.
- Monitor the fixed assets and capitalization processes.
- Coordinate local tax audits and tax returns, and collaborate with our Finance systems and local Billing teams to ensure German accounting and tax requirements are fulfilled.
- Liaise and report to local authorities on local required reporting and submissions.
- Utilize SAP S4 HANA and OneStream for reporting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in an accounting or controlling role in a global environment, with at least 3 years of team leadership experience in an international matrix organization.
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and complexity.
- Business fluent in German and English.
- Strong local German GAAP Audit knowledge and experience with accounting software (SAP S4 HANA or similar).
