About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Leader to join our European Process & Engineering hub in Euskirchen, Germany. As a Mechanical Leader, you will be responsible for inventing, developing, and delivering breakthrough technologies that provide winning products for consumers in Europe and around the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute the mechanical development of new equipment in a multidisciplinary project team.
  • Independent definition of mechanical equipment within portfolio capability based on product design.
  • Mechanical development with usage of CAD and ERP systems.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with R&D, GMDSO, operations, but also with suppliers and external partners in mechanical engineering and equipment manufactures.
  • Support in innovation projects and test run activities (installation, commissioning).
  • Prepare construction risk assessment.
  • Provide RFQ documents for the contractor service enquiries.
  • Training and Onboarding of European and global resources on mechanical equipment design.
  • Support senior management in decision making by providing data, insights and recommendations on equipment options and equipment capability.

Requirements

  • Mechanical engineering technician (Staatlich geprüfter Techniker Maschinenbau) with 5+ year experience in complex technical jobs or Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Broad knowledge on mechanical design, manufacturing process, documentation, and construction requirements.
  • Analytical skills and initiative to identify and solve problems.
  • Experience in executing projects self-organized.
  • Experience in leading contractor resources incl. supervisors and engineering teams.
  • Experience in training others.
  • High degree of independence, sense of responsibility and assertiveness.
  • Independent prioritization of parallel tasks.
  • Experience in adapting communication for different function and across senior levels.
  • Fluid communication in English.
