Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary representative for Vibracoustic within the Commodity group focusing on Metals, Electromechanics, Electronic Components, and PCBa across the EU region.
- Conduct comprehensive market assessments including analysis of indices, technological advancements, and financial stability of suppliers, while delivering insights to internal teams.
- Perform in-depth research and explore supply markets for designated commodities in cost-effective countries, ensuring compliance with automotive standards during supplier onboarding.
- Develop and implement a regional commodity strategy in collaboration with the global commodity manager, while defining and managing the supplier portfolio to effectively drive the strategy across the region.
- Achieve material cost reduction objectives through effective negotiation, guiding new and existing business opportunities, and supporting value analysis/value engineering initiatives.
- Negotiate annual contracts and agreements with suppliers in the portfolio, including establishing delivery and payment terms as well as incoterms.
- Oversee the reporting of purchasing performance metrics and assist in configuring the ERP system regarding pricing, surcharges, and related aspects.
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in procurement or as a commodity buyer, particularly within the automotive sector.
- A degree in engineering, Business Administration, or a related field is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of purchasing and automotive operational processes.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to work autonomously.
- Willingness to travel for business and engage in networking opportunities, particularly with suppliers.
- Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) and a good command of German.
