The Data Search Architecture

The Data Search Architecture is empowering E.ON to deliver exceptional user experiences and drive business growth. As a Data Search Infrastructure Specialist, you will define the overarching search architecture for E.ON's applications and systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with organizational objectives.

Your Responsibilities

  • Design and architect enterprise search solutions that meet business needs, utilizing Lucene-based search technologies such as Elasticsearch and Apache Solr.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand their search requirements and translate them into technical requirements for enterprise search solutions.
  • Develop user journey maps that capture various touchpoints and architect search solutions to ingest data from data sources like databases, SharePoint, FTP servers, websites crawling, etc.
  • Design solutions and strategies for near real-time search, batch data ingestion, and data crawling, and define and implement an ETL layer to enrich data and optimize search results for business needs.
  • Develop and implement search user interfaces, including search forms, facets, and filters.
  • Participate in search solution testing and tuning, including performance optimization and load testing.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, as well as multiple years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise search solutions.
  • Strong experience with search technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, and/or Microsoft Search, and a solid understanding of search relevancy, indexing, and search algorithms.
  • Understanding of keyword search, fuzzy search, and vector search, as well as search UI design and development.
  • Experience with integrating search solutions with search client applications and data sources, CMS systems, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident and engaging communication with internal and external partners.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Team player with an independent and structured working approach and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
