About the role

The chapter represents all experts who deliver data and AI engineering capabilities to our product teams. As an Enterprise Search Architect, you will define the overarching search architecture for E.ON's applications and systems, ensuring scalability and reliability in alignment with organizational objectives.

Your tasks

  • Design and architect enterprise search solutions that meet business needs, utilizing Lucene-based search technologies such as Elasticsearch and Apache Solr.
  • Work with business stakeholders to understand their search requirements and translate them into technical requirements for enterprise search solutions.
  • Develop user journey maps that capture various touchpoints, and architect search solutions to ingest data from data sources like databases, SharePoint, FTP servers, websites crawling, etc.
  • Design solutions and strategies for near real-time search, batch data ingestion, and data crawling, and define and implement an ETL layer to enrich data and optimize search results for business needs.
  • Develop and implement search user interfaces, including search forms, facets, and filters.
  • Participate in search solution testing and tuning, including performance optimization and load testing.

About you

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, as well as multiple years of experience in designing and implementing enterprise search solutions.
  • Strong experience with search technologies such as Elasticsearch, Solr, and/or Microsoft Search, and a solid understanding of search relevancy, indexing, and search algorithms.
  • Understanding of keyword search, fuzzy search, and vector search, as well as search UI design and development.
  • Experience with integrating search solutions with search client applications and data sources, CMS systems, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident and engaging communication with internal and external partners.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Team player with an independent and structured working approach and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
