Position Overview
As a Senior Research Scientist in Molecular Biology, you will engage in a dynamic international research and development environment, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies across a diverse range of projects. This role demands a robust expertise in Molecular Biology and Fungal genetics, particularly with Aspergillus species, and offers a pathway for professional growth along with a competitive compensation package.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute significantly to the development of production platforms (e.g., Aspergillus), focusing on continuous strain enhancement and enzyme product innovation.
- Facilitate the generation of ideas, design, plan, and execute laboratory experiments while providing technical guidance to colleagues in fungal strain development.
- Oversee troubleshooting and enhance protocols and methodologies to achieve higher throughput in research processes.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional project teams and key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment and progress.
- Work within a global framework, interfacing with R&D teams and various disciplines, enhancing collaborative efforts.
Candidate Profile:
- A master’s degree (or higher) in Molecular Biology or related fields, accompanied by a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience.
- Proven experience with fungal production systems, particularly Aspergillus, along with familiarity in strain engineering; expertise in automation is advantageous.
- Knowledge of bacterial production systems, such as Bacillus, is considered a plus.
- A proactive, goal-driven individual with a passion for applied sciences, exhibiting strong problem-solving capabilities and a collaborative spirit.
- Effective communication skills within multidisciplinary teams, with proficiency in English; knowledge of German is beneficial.
