About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical and Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer to join our Aircraft Engineering Team at Volocopter GmbH. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the system-related engineering activities and certification for electrical, electronic, and electromagnetic compatibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in functional verification aircraft tests and EMI/HIRF system and aircraft level tests, including preparation, procurement, and planning.
- Conduct design and qualification documentation reviews.
- Witness tests and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including EASA, to define, justify, and negotiate requirements and action plans.
- Develop and maintain the Environmental and EMC/HIRF Certification Plan.
- Define inputs for the Environmental Conditions Specification.
- Identify and mitigate potential electrical, electronic, or electromagnetic compatibility-related risks at the equipment, system, and aircraft levels.
Requirements
- Engineering degree in aeronautical science or equivalent education.
- 5-10 years of professional experience as an electrical/electronic aerospace engineer with a minimum of 2 years involvement in electromagnetic compatibility tasks, including knowledge of ARP4754A.
- Experience in electrical and electromagnetic tests from RTCA DO-160 or equivalent standard.
- Knowledge of applicable electromagnetic requirements for Type Certification of civil aircraft.
- Good understanding of the EASA regulatory environment and EASA practices.
- Previous involvement in Type Certification Processes.
- Ability and willingness to travel.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- German language skills are a plus.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
