Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our International Shipping Department as an Intern. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the inner workings of a department focused on international maritime banking services, maritime finance, and investment management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Relationship and Account Management: You will work closely with our Relationship and Account Management team to gain in-depth knowledge of managing client relationships and accounts, learning how to tailor banking solutions to meet the unique needs of our international shipping clients.
  • Foreign Exchange Trading: You will have the opportunity to observe how our FX traders work with shipping clients daily to execute large transactions or acquire complex financial instruments.
  • Ship Finance and Asset Management: You will learn how we structure financing solutions for maritime assets, assess and document credit risk, and manage our loan portfolio.
  • Shipping Origination: You will be involved in the origination of new shipping deals, from initial client engagement to the finalization of complex transactions.
Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or shipping
  • Reliable team player with a natural curiosity and strong desire to learn and develop
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Eager to take on new challenges and demonstrate a passion for the maritime and financial industries
  • Ability to work independently on defined tasks, while seeking advice where appropriate
  • Open-minded and passionate about problem-solving, while being used to working in a fast-paced environment
  • High standard of oral and written English is essential; proficiency in German is a plus, but not a must
