Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute installations, upgrades, and migrations, including cloud ones.
- Standardize management to enhance system administration and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with developers to design and optimize schemas, queries, and indexes.
- Enhance infrastructure for better performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Use monitoring tools to proactively address performance issues.
- Resolve bottlenecks and tune queries, indexes, and configurations.
- Implement and maintain security best practices.
- Perform regular updates, patches, and security configurations.
- Minimize downtime and ensure data integrity.
- Provide support for database issues, including on-call support.
- Monitor growth and plan for future capacity.
- Optimize storage and resource usage.
- Offer technical support and troubleshooting for internal teams.
- Document configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Requirements:
- 3-4 years of experience as a MS SQL Systems Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server architecture, administration, and performance tuning.
- Experience with backup and recovery strategies, disaster recovery planning, and database security best practices.
- Proficiency in T-SQL and experience with database development.
- Experience in query tuning, index optimization, and performance troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of cloud-based database services, architecture, and best practices for scalability and performance.
- Proven experience in migrating databases to cloud platforms or centralizations.
- Ability to plan and execute database centralization projects.
- ITIL Certification (highly desirable).
- Microsoft Certified: SQL Server Database Administrator.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
