About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Server Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at Knauf Digital GmbH. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our server infrastructure to support our global business operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Server Platform Engineering: Collaborate with project managers, system administrators, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives related to server platform implementation in the OT area.
  • Infrastructure Assessment: Execute comprehensive assessments of existing OT server infrastructure to inform the planning and execution of server platform projects.
  • Implementation and Management: Implement and manage OT server platform solutions, emphasizing VMware virtualization technologies, including VMware vSAN, and on-premise server clusters.
  • Documentation and Planning: Develop detailed implementation plans and documentation outlining proposed architectures, configurations, and resource requirements.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise and support during project execution, ensuring adherence to design standards, industry best practices, and security guidelines in the OT environment.
  • Risk Management: Identify and promptly address risks and challenges associated with OT server projects to minimize disruptions and delays.
Requirements
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in server platform engineering within enterprise environments, with a focus on OT systems, showcasing strong expertise in VMware, virtualization, including VMware vSAN, and on-premise server clusters.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of server virtualization principles, technologies, and best practices, particularly with VMware vSphere.
  • Skills: Familiarity with OT systems and their integration with server platforms, proficiency in configuring and managing server hardware and software components in OT environments, and experience with project management methodologies and tools.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage project stakeholders.
