Role Overview
The Head of Site EHS (m/f/d) will play a crucial role in shaping a proactive EHS culture at Viatris Troisdorf, ensuring both physical and psychological safety for all employees and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the development and implementation of effective EHS programs to ensure compliance with local regulations, Viatris standards, and industry best practices.
- Formulate and execute comprehensive strategies to address significant EHS risks within the organization.
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels to promote EHS initiatives and enhance cultural maturity.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the EHS team, ensuring they possess the necessary technical and behavioral competencies.
- Provide expert technical guidance on all EHS matters, collaborating with regional EHS teams as needed.
- Conduct internal audits and EHS assessments, identifying practical solutions for any issues identified.
- Oversee the EHS training curriculum, equipping employees with the knowledge to perform their roles safely and responsibly.
- Implement a thorough investigation process for EHS incidents, ensuring root causes are identified and addressed.
- Manage EHS budgets effectively, delivering value through careful planning and monitoring.
- Ensure timely collection and analysis of EHS data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Maintain a hands-on approach to all EHS activities.
- Provide EHS input for major projects and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to energy management initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
- A master's degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a related field, along with a SIFA certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience in EHS.
- Proven experience as an EHS leader in a pharmaceutical or chemical cGMP manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team effectively.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance procedures and the ability to interpret relevant legislation.
- Strong analytical and logical thinking skills.
- Professionalism and maturity in dealing with colleagues and writing clear reports.
- A collaborative team player who fosters respect and goodwill.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.
