Job Description

We are looking for a Business Unit Manager Life Sciences in our office in Munich or Frankfurt, Germany. As a Business Unit Manager, you will be responsible for the overall business unit profitability and turnover in Germany.

Key Responsibilities
  • Make the country business unit profitable
  • Responsible for the overall business unit turnover in Germany
  • Responsible for business development and contracting in Germany
  • Report monthly business unit progress to the IBUM as direct manager
  • Responsible for the specific industry development in Germany
  • Technical knowledge is required: from starting projects to giving support to the project team, depending on the structure and capabilities of each country
  • Fully collaborate with the other companies of the group
  • Lead the business development for his industry by market analysis, turning yearly objectives into an action plan, defining business development strategy, and being the central contact person for marketing activities
  • Being/identifying and allocating large account managers to the strategic customers within Group-Ips
  • Giving support in quotations and joining important customer meetings where needed
  • Developing quotations by himself when needed
  • Organizing the cold calling
  • As pilot (or even project manager), performing when needed project management or project mentoring
  • Ensure the profitability and invoicing is on time and payments are retrieved timely
  • Timesheets, progress report, and validation of invoicing
  • Ensure trackers are strictly up to date
  • Working minimum 50% (days/month) as PM and/or pilot as chargeability target
  • Develop skills to keep and improve the project quality and relationship to the client
  • Ensure the profitability and quality on projects related to its industry
  • Implementing coaching/corrective practices, to align his staff with the company-goals
  • Leading, centralizing, enlarging, and spreading technical industry-related knowledge, methods, tools within the industry
Requirements
  • Engineering Bachelor
  • More than 7 years' experience
  • At least 7 years' experience in similar engineering activities - senior role - Life Sciences or similar business experience and network in Germany would be a plus
  • German and English are a must
  • PMI would be a plus
  • MS Projects
  • % Mobility in Germany and availability for some projects in Europe
