About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and inspirational leader to take on the role of Senior Country Director for Germany. As the Managing Director for the German Market, you will be responsible for driving the business forward, building the German's business plans to deliver the company's key strategic objectives in line with the 3 Year Planning Cycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive growth and leverage in the core Marketplace business
  • Scale and optimize the delivery proposition
  • Launch and scale incremental revenue streams, including ensuring Grocery becomes a significant % of our overall business over the next 3 years
  • Enhance the hybrid experience for both consumers and restaurants
  • Drive continuous improvement, organizational efficiency, and a streamlined structure and cost base
Additional Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic leadership of the German management team, ensuring they are a cohesive and high-performing team and providing 1:1 and team coaching and guidance on the development of their functional plans and roadmaps in line with the overall strategic objectives of the business and group.
  • As an integral part of the Northern Europe Leadership team, work with other senior stakeholders to drive business initiatives and key company decisions.
  • Manage the business to achieve financial and non-financial targets, ensuring that risks and opportunities are continually assessed and managed, like Order growth, Revenue, EBITDA, Online Partners, market share, NPS, Delivery efficiency, and Employee engagement.
  • Play a key and influential role in the development of our relationships with strategic accounts and brands.
  • Extend and strengthen relationships with relevant industry bodies, key national decision makers, and have a strong public profile.
  • Manage the local commercial team, building team spirit and representing the company towards employee bodies.
What We're Looking For
  • Significant prior experience in a 'number one' role, either at group or divisional level, managing large diverse teams of people and have a solid track record of improving operational performance and effectiveness.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop and communicate a compelling vision.
  • Recognised as an inspirational leader by their team, peer group, and external network.
  • Relevant industry experience from a consumer-oriented business, preferably with significant exposure to Technology and/or e-Commerce and the hunger to succeed within a commercially led operating environment.
  • Outstanding analytical skills and ability to manipulate data to extract insights and tell a meaningful story that provokes action.
  • High levels of emotional intelligence; able to coach, develop, and mentor at all levels.
  • Able to build, maintain, and influence productive cross-functional relationships to drive business and create high-performing teams through thoughtful yet decisive leadership and a positive 'can-do, get it done' attitude.
  • Calculated risk taker who is sensitive to changing priorities and able to work as a change agent within the business.
  • Able to set clear goals, devise plans, attend to appropriate details, meet deadlines, and inspire others to move in an established direction.
