Director of Public Affairs & Policy Advocacy

As a Director of Public Affairs & Policy Advocacy, you will oversee the strategic political initiatives and stakeholder collaborations on various projects related to nutrition and environmental sustainability within Germany, the EU, and across our international markets. Your primary duties will encompass performing risk evaluations, monitoring pertinent legislation, formulating strategies and campaigns, managing partnerships, and liaising with external entities.

Our Public Affairs team addresses a broad spectrum of subjects, including digital commerce and regulatory frameworks, sustainable practices, as well as food and agricultural regulations. This new role is designed to enhance the knowledge and capabilities of our global team in addressing nutrition and sustainability policy matters.

Your Responsibilities

  • Formulate strategic engagement and positioning plans for nutrition and sustainability policy initiatives within the EU and our global markets
  • Guide our engagement on issues and policies pertinent to emerging European enterprises in the food industry
  • Represent our organization at industry conferences, trade associations, and coalition gatherings
  • Design research studies and reports to stimulate discussions surrounding our initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with senior leaders across various sectors of the organization
  • Engage with key political figures and broader public stakeholders to foster a trustworthy dialogue
  • Establish business-related goals and metrics, assisting in the development and advancement of market strategies aligned with stakeholder expectations

Your Qualifications

  • You possess 3 - 5 years of relevant experience and a comprehensive understanding of the political landscape in Germany and the EU
  • You have strong analytical skills and can convey complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing, in German and English
  • Deep understanding of public policy issues related to nutrition, sustainability, and circular economy
  • Excellent knowledge of the political framework and legislative processes, environment, and institutions in Germany and the EU
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and have experience collaborating with senior stakeholders across the organization
