Director of Public Affairs & Government Relations
In the role of Director of Public Affairs & Government Relations, you will oversee the political initiatives and stakeholder engagement related to food and sustainability policy within Germany, the EU, and across HelloFresh's international markets. Your key responsibilities will encompass conducting risk assessments, monitoring pertinent legislation, formulating strategies and campaigns, managing associations, and liaising with external stakeholders.
The Public Policy team at HelloFresh addresses a variety of subjects, including e-commerce and digital policy, sustainability initiatives, and food and agricultural regulations. This new position is designed to enhance the expertise and capabilities of the global team in engaging with food and sustainability policy matters.

Key Responsibilities
- Formulate strategic positioning and engagement plans for food and sustainability policy issues in the EU and across HelloFresh's global markets
- Lead HelloFresh's involvement in political matters pertinent to young European scale-ups in the food industry
- Represent HelloFresh at industry events, trade associations, and coalition meetings
- Develop studies and reports to stimulate discussions surrounding HelloFresh
- Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across various business sectors
- Engage with key political and public stakeholders to foster a trustworthy dialogue
- Establish business-related objectives and metrics, assisting in the creation and advancement of market strategies aligned with stakeholder expectations
Qualifications
- A minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience with a solid understanding of the German and EU political landscape
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing, in German and English
- In-depth knowledge of public policy issues related to food policy, sustainability, and the circular economy
- Comprehensive understanding of the political system, legislative processes, and institutions in Germany and the EU
- Adept at working in a fast-paced environment and experienced in collaborating with senior stakeholders
