Role Responsibilities
The Buyout team at ARDIAN is offering an internship opportunity in the Frankfurt office to support the daily operations of private equity investment professionals. This role will involve significant responsibilities from the outset, integrating the intern into the team with extensive interaction with investment professionals, support functions, and external industry experts. Previous high-performing interns have transitioned into permanent positions within the German ARDIAN team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Gathering and analyzing data on target firms, their competitors, and industry sectors, as well as preparing materials for and participating in discussions with industry experts and management.
- Engaging in the evaluation of investment prospects (including business analysis, financial modeling, company valuation, and interviews with industry participants).
- Contributing to the investment process (which includes drafting investment memoranda and reviewing due diligence across various domains: commercial, financial, legal, etc.).
- Assisting in the monitoring and preparation of potential exits for current ARDIAN portfolio companies.
This list is not exhaustive and may vary based on the intern's capabilities and the team's needs.
Required Qualifications
- A diverse set of quantitative, qualitative, and interpersonal skills (strong team player).
- Intellectual rigor and discipline; ability to organize and execute work efficiently.
- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and valuation.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Candidate Profile
- Currently enrolled as a bachelor’s or master’s student at a reputable business school or university.
- Outstanding academic performance.
- Fluency in German and English.
- Prior internship experience in one of the following areas is advantageous:
- Private Equity
- Investment Banking (M&A, LevFin)
- Transaction Services
- Strategy Consulting

The ARDIAN Buyout team operates across multiple locations, including Paris, Frankfurt, Milan, Madrid, Luxembourg, London, and New York, focusing on investments in upper-mid and large-cap companies. With $16 billion in assets managed or advised, their core investment strategy involves implementing transformational buy-and-build approaches to assist local European and North American champions in becoming global leaders. By placing sustainability at the core of their operations, the multinational investment team, consisting of 52 investment professionals, has forged strong partnerships with leading players across various industries, particularly in the food value chain, healthcare, technology, and services sectors.
